Purse Seine Guidebook
A shark release ramp designed to connect the stern-side edge of the hopper, located on the port side, to a door on the starboard side that opens to the sea, provides a highly efficient way to quickly release sharks with minimal crew interaction.
There are various ramp designs that can be adapted to vessels with or without hoppers, as well as to different vessel characteristics and sizes (see “Shark Release Ramp Guide for Purse-Seine Vessels”).
